She Liked Her Sword With A Lot Of Accessories

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I have different phases that I go through when it come to accessories. Presently I'm in a, I-wear-nothing-but-rings-typa, mode. Also, when it comes to my additions, I like 'em big - know what I'm sayin'?

So of course, I was more than thrilled when these bangles showed up at the Alviero Martini show in Milan, yesterday afternoon. The photo doesn't do them enough justice though, the bracelets are much bigger than they look here, in real life.

All in all, it was a good (albeit delayed) show. I'll post more photos of the rest of the collection, soon, okay?

Arrivederci bellas!

What's Love Got To Do With It?

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I don't even think I like trenchcoats anymore. It's a question of obsession. I'm that psychosomatic stalker hiding behind the flowers. "Here's looking at you kid."

A Cosmic Connection

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I just noticed that the above, futuristic hair clip by Cynthia Rowley, perfectly matches my Marilla shimmery shoes by Whyred, in the eight photo below. It's also the same electric blue complexion of this alienesque mannequin that I spotted at the CPH Vision fair, the winter before last.

What is the universe trying to tell me...hmmm...*scratching my head*...?

Riddle Me This

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I spend a lot of time reading various blogs, and a number out of these, I visit on a regular basis. But, I have to give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar, and proclaim that, "The Sartorialist" is my favourite out of all of them.

Anyhoo, today, or rather, yesterday - as it's past midnight and way past my bedtime where I am, I saw a photo on Scott Schuman's site that made me go "But wait a minute, surely I saw this dude at one of the fashion shows in New York last year, wearing something extraordinary. Where's the photo?" And because I never - make that rarely, use the word "dude", I felt that this riddle called for a Sherlock Holmes-ian investigation.

So I called my cousin up to see whether she remembered where we'd seen Waris Ahluwalia in NYC the previous fall. The kin had no recollection, which is why I'm sitting here now in the late hours of the day, eating cottage cheese and going through my archive of images.

Well, "Seek and You Shall Find." I did. And look at Ahluwalia in his blue shirt paired with orange socks, isn't he a sight for sore eyes? Oh, also, the show in question was the presentation of Cynthia Rowley's SS 11 collection. Remember the mystique?

Moodswings

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

As much as I like attending fashion shows and showrooms, I also enjoy seeing what a collection looks like while it's still on "paper", so to speak.

This is the mood board for Baum und Pferdgarten forthcoming spring collection. Their concept is all about pairing contrasting and unexpected fabrics with classic designs and vice versa. It works for me. The compostion of images, text and samples of objects in the poster design you see up there, transforms perfectly into the completed production set.

And then there are their colourful socks! You know that a designer as hit the nail on the head when even a pair of them has the capacity to set you off into a frenzy.

Animal Instinct

Baum und Pferdgarten has made a tradition of keeping atleast one item of clothing or accessory with leopard print in both their fall and spring collections every year. And when it comes to animal-printed items, "every girl needs a closet full (or at least a few pieces)", right?

Therefore, the first two people to send an email, before October 1, 2011, to this address: info@madifonbyfashion.com, including the words "Animal Print" in the subject line, each get a leopard printed textile shopping bag by Baum und Pferdgarten, along with the lookbook for their 2012 spring and summer collection.

Who said that Monday mornings can't be exciting?

By Any Other Name

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I've walked past the Brethvad Gallery in Copenhagen atleast a 100 times. But, never during its opening hours. The irony, the art gallery has been situated in the same location for almost 20 years!

Having said that, the day before yesterday, was the day that I once and for all put the days of pressing my nose up against the closed Brethvad's window pane, behind me; by finally getting an up close and personal look at the beautiful red, black, bronze and white female figurines crafted by, Pernille Brethvad. They're absolute. No dispute. The human representation in any shape or size, is perfect.

Oh Snap!

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

I was casually walking around - after runnings a few errands, doing a bit of window shopping in Copenhagen today, when I spotted Anemone. Awestruck by her look for the day - especially by the shoes (and then some), I had to stop and ask her where they were from. Answer: Acne. the trousers, too. Her coat is by Weekday. She also carried a cute little black purse by Yvonne Koné. But, it's tucked away in her bicycle basket.

After my brief encounter with the 24-year-old hairdresser, I continued my journey, which was "randomly" supposed to lead me to the bakery, La Glace. However, instead, I got held up by a Belgian waffle with lots of strawberry jam, on the city's longest pedestrian mall. Post the yummy indulgence, I ended up shopping at the Weekday store: All in the name of a powder pink trenchcoat.
