Masquerade

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

There is nothing wrong with your screen. Do not attempt to adjust the image. We control the transmission. We can soften the focus into a dreamlike haze or sharpen it into crystal clarity. You are about to experience the awe… And the mystery.

All right, enough with the "Outer Limits" references.

Still, the mannequins in that window really do look like cyborgs poised for a full-scale fashion invasion, don’t they? One starts to wonder how long it will be before the traditionale model is declared obsolete.

"Terminator," anyone?

  1. So cool! They remind me of the aliens from the movie A.I. or Mystique from X-Men!

  3. Thank you for the comment :)

I was just about to say that the mannequins remind me of Mystique from X-Men but Stina Pellein got there first :P - Avatar anyone?

  4. All I want to say is, at the least the breast height is realistic. Very Avatar.

  5. By the traditional mannequin, do you mean the ones with eyes and eyelashes and lips and hair? Because those ones sure do creep me out. I definitely like these blue-ish ones better. They kind of remind me of bath beads.

  7. When I saw this picture really small in my blog updates, I thought it was a model covered in latex, and I thought, "Please be a model completely covered in latex." These mannequins are pretty badass, though.

  8. They are kind of weird, but they're different at least and interesting!

  9. Thanks so much for your comment on my blog! I'm loving this blue mannequin, I think the more creative the mannequin, the better the clothes look on it. When I worked at Warehouse they had such boring plain white mannequins that didn't even have heads, and I think it made the clothes look really plain. Whereas in Urban Outfitters, they have mannequins which are covered in floral fabric which I think are soo pretty. I'm following you now, would be great if you wanna do the same! xxx
