WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW AND HAVE YOU ALWAYS LIVED THERE?
I am currently in the United States, and I typically live different places around the world throughout the year.
WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
I was born in Queens, New York, I then moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 13.
WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR CITY OR HOMETOWN?
The best thing about being raised in NYC is learning how to hustle…I can sell salt to a slug. However, Atlanta taught me how to embrace opportunity as it can appear in any shape or form.
WHAT WERE YOUR ASPIRATIONS GROWING UP?
Growing up I always wanted to “change the world”. I wanted everyone to find their inner joy!
WHAT HAS BEEN A SEMINAL EXPERIENCE?
My mom and 11 other sisters were raising and teaching me survival skills, and that was most pivotal moment in my life. It was as if I had 12 mothers who always showed me how to love and gave me things they couldn’t have.
WHY ACTIVISM?
Activism is defined as the policy or action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change. However, I personally define activism as using all the privileges that God gave you to stand up for inequality. I believe we can all seek inner peace once we all make the initiative to find it.
WHEN AND WHY WAS THE WORLD PEACE CONNECTION FOUNDED?
World Peace Connection was founded in 2012. My partner, Dane Caston, and myself created a platform for individuals to think about “what inspires them about live and living?” With the response, the individual can start their inner peace by thinking about their inspiration.
WHAT ARE THE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS?
We are a social enterprise that empowers, inspires and creates an platform for individuals to seek inspiration to make a World Peace Connection.
WHAT IS YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from Georgia Southern University.
YOU TRAVELL, AND OFTEN, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SPOT IN THE WORLD?
So far from my travels my favorite region in the world is South East Asia. South East Asia is filled with diversity, culture and love. Not to mention it compliments your wallet.
HOW DO YOU ADAPT YOUR BEAUTY RITUALS TO THE VARIOUS CLIMATE?
I don’t have many beauty rituals, however as I travel my hair gets the most attention. I still can’t seem to get to understand the best climate for my hair.
AND YOUR STYLE IS GREAT, CAN YOU BREAK IT DOWN?
I love to shop at thrift stores, but most importantly global markets. I love pieces that have a story connected to it.
HOW DO DOES YOUR AESTHTIC TRANSLATE IN OTHER AREAS OF YOUR LIFE?
I tend to go with the flow. I love high and positive energy and I try my best to add that into anything that I do. You only get one life. I rather not use it to talk about others, but to inspire others to seek peace!
WHAT'S YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL?
My spirit animal would be that caterpillar, staying low and grounded but know it has the potential to blossom into a butterfly one day.
HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
I typically unwind by surrounding myself with people who make me become a better person. The ones who challenge me and allow my thoughts to wander. The ones who give productive criticism.
