WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW?
I come from Cape Verde, and I was raised in Portugal. I choose Berlin as home for now.
WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR PRESENT CITY OR YOUR HOMETOWN?
Favorite spots are, the mountains of Cape Verde nice boutiques and my bed.
WHAT WERE YOUR INFANT ASPIRATIONS?
I was in love with music. Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana and Sara Tavares were my inspiration. I also had a passion for fashion and was fascinated by Cirque du Soleil costumes and design.
WHAT HAS BEEN A PIVOTAL MOMENT?
Definitely the decision to leave Portugal and travel to Germany (one way ticket ), without speaking the language. I couldn’t say one word in German.
WHY MUSIC?
Because is the only way that I found to express what I want to say.
HOW WOULD YOU CLASSIFY YOUR SOUND?
It's definitely world music.
WHAT THEMES DO YOU PURSUE THROUGH YOUR LYRICS?
Love, freedom , thoughts and fears.
IS THERE A SONG OR MUSICAL PASSAGE THAT NEVER FAILS TO MOVE YOU EMOTIONALLY?
Yes, I have one now. Never fails. "Labrinth". I'm always touched by the simplicity of the lyrics.
WHAT OR WHO HAD THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON YOU?
Many people in my life but I think the most important was and is my aunt. She taught hot me to accept myself.
WHAT’S YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?
I love to drink whisky and at same time watch people walking around.
HOW DOES YOU AESTHETIC TRANSLATE IN OTHER ASPECTS?
I love beautiful things and I do see beautiful things everywhere, so I fit all over. I do things that I never thought I'd do. I think my life translates in the aesthetic.
HOW WOULDYOU DEFINE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
My style is feminine, elegant, confident and beautiful, like all the ladies in the world.
HOW DO YOU GET STAGE READY?
I always need 30 min for myself - where I get crazy. I tremble, I have colic and as soon as I walk to the stage it disappears like magic.
HOW DO YOU SPEND A DAY OFF?
I love to eat. Most of the time you can meet or find me at a restaurant eating and drinking with friends and with my dog.
HOW DO YOU RETURN TO CENTER?
I have my distinct way since I was a kid. I breath.
