WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW AND HAVE YOU ALWAYS LIVED THERE?
I am in my apartment in Los Angeles. I have not always lived here. (thank god).

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
I was born in California, raised in a small town in Oregon, and now I’m back living in California!

WHAT WERE YOUR ASPIRATIONS GROWING UP?
To be able to live in the world doing what I do naturally.

WHY MUSIC?
It’s always been a part of me. Not something I felt I chose.

FIRST SONG EVER SUNG?
Well first I sang along to the radio and then I started writing my own songs.

WHAT'S YOUR GENRE?
Genre-less, haha! Maybe, baroque pop, with a dash of country and a pinch of rock? If you like sultry-singing chicks with a lot on their mind, you’ll like me.

IS THERE A MUSICAL PASSAGE THAT NEVER FALLS TO MOVE YOU EMOTIONALLY?
“Little Wing” by Stevie Ray Vaughn. I first heard it while sitting in a bar and it felt like my brain was on fire.

WHY ART?
I started painting because I wasn’t getting enough studio time during the recording of my new album. However painting became more than just a way to pass the time. It’s relaxing for me and let’s me express a lighter, happier side of myself whereas my music is where I grapple with my demons and deeper concepts.

WHAT'S YOUR PREFERRED MEDIUM TO WORK WITH?
Acrylic, house paint, nail polish. I like that they dry fast so I can move on to the next thing.

WHO OR WHAT HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOU AND WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?
My family. My Dad is a naturally gifted speaker and artist himself while my Mom is handy and can do any creative task well. My brother is my creative other-half. I find inspiration everywhere, A homeless man playing trumpet on the street, a guy treated me bad or treating me good, a strip club, a movie, a logo on a coffee cup. It doesn’t matter.

WHAT'S YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?
There’s no process. I’m usually slapped in the face by my muse, and I simply obey and write down what I’m given, like a grateful slave.

HOW DOES YOUR AESTHETIC TRANSLATE IN YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
I love vintage everything. Especially the 1930’s through the 1970’s. Anything rare or odd catches my attention. I can be a bit of a visual chameleon, one day you’ll see me in cornrows and baggy pants, the next day long straight hair and a pencil skirt and the day after- sports gear and a pony tail. I’m a sucker for velvet, fur, lucite and pointed-toe shoes. My biggest aesthetic pleasure is my 1973 Dodge Dart. Don’t even get me started on old cars.

WHAT DO YOU GET UP TO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING?
I’m always working baby.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
Hot tubs, natural hot springs, showers. Especially showers while drinking beer.
