WHERE DO YOU PRESENTLY LIVE?
I live in San Francisco, California.

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED AND WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST CHEERISHED CHILDHOOD MEMORIES?
I grew up on a small farm in rural Missouri, not too far from where Walt Disney grew up. I fondly remember playing in our corn fields for fun.

WHY ILLUSTRATOR?
I chose to become an illustrator as a hobby, and not as my main job, so that I could have fun with it and never worry about needing to make art to sustain myself.

HOW DID YOU ACQUIRE THE SKILL?
I studied fashion design, and learning to illustrate is a huge part of the program.

WHY EDIBLE PLANTS (AND MEALS IN GENERAL)?
It was all a joke I started at lunch. Food is what I had around me, so I just started doodling.

WHAT FARE, VEGETABLE OR FRUIT WOULD YOUR FIGURES NOT BE CAUGHT DEAD IN? Ha! Maybe a cheeseburger ….

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECTS OF YOUR DESIGNS?
The most challenging part about my work is keeping my food out of my belly.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE ARTISTS?
I’m always inspired by the natural produce in California that grows year-round, and also the food portraits by Irving Penn.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR OWN STYLE?
My own style is very colorful. I love monochromatic looks.

HOW DO YOU AMUSE YOURSELF OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I’m alway amused by my puppy, Charley, who loves to eat everything just like me!
