WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW AND HAVE YOU ALWAYS LIVED THERE?
Nairobi.

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND RAISED?
I was Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya.

WHAT WERE YOUR ASPIRATIONS GROWING UP?
I wanted to be everything! From pilot, to model, to doctor, to vet, to architect…everything! I studied Bachelor of Commerce- Finance. Majored and practiced in the field  for about a year and a half.

WHY INFLUENCER AND WHY FOOD?
I have always loved food! Even before it turned into my now career, I loved food. Food is not just nourishment, but an excellent conversation facilitator too. I started my blog because I wanted to add value to the lives of my readers and being an influencer comes as a result of what I initially set out to do.

HOW DID YOU AQCUIRE KNOWLEDGE?
Most of what I share is self-taught. I learn majority of my unique recipes form trial and error. A huge chunk of what I know as well, I learnt from my mother and my sisters.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE DISHES?
I love everything. But I am particularly drawn to the full flavored nature of matumbo and kuku kienyeji. I love the spiciness of biryani and pilau, and I also enjoy my maandazi each morning with chai masala.

DO YOU GENERALLY PREFER SWEET OR SAVOURY?
Savory.

HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH RECIPES?
Trial and error and revamping the recipes I grew up with.

WHAT IS CENTRAL TO KENYAN CUISINE?
Fresh, simple ingredients. Our staple starch is ugali, and we also have such a wide range of pulses and traditional vegetables that make our cuisine very rich.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE OUTSIDE OF THE KITCHEN?
There is definitely more to me than being someone who loves cooking. I would describe my personal style as fun, flirty, feminine. I wear skirts and dresses majority of the time, just as a matter of preference and I have amazing legs that I love showing off. I love reading books of all genres but particularly by African authors. I love travel, and my favorite countries I have explored besides my own are Zanzibar and South Africa.

HAVE YOU FOUND A WAY TO INCORPORATE ANY PRODUCE INTO YOUR BEAUTY REGIME?
I used to, but found that most of what people recommend does more harm than good. I used to use lemon on my skin and it was extremely abrasive at it’s pH 2, and decided to keep what belongs in the kitchen, in the kitchen.

WHAT DO YOU GET UP TO WHEN YOUR NOT WORKING?
Bike rides in Karura forest or through Hell’s Gate National Park, zip lining at Ngong Hills, and brunch while catching up with friends, or a mountain hike. I generally love doing outdoor activities.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
Some music, a face mask, a glass of wine, and some great movie afterwards.
