Los Angeles. No, but I love LA!

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND BROUGHT UP?
I was born and raised in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR PRESENT CITY OR HOMETOWN?
I have a lot of hometown pride. That’s why I shot my debut feature film, "Definition Please", in Greensburg. The community really came together to support our movie. I’m still good friends with people I’ve known since pre-school.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES?
Going to Kennywood, Hindu Temple summer camp, riding bikes in the neighborhood.

WHY THESPIAN?
I caught the acting bug while performing in school musicals and, personally, I had no other choice. I didn’t want to do anything else.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING ON "INSECURE" (AND ITS PREDECESSOR) AND WHAT'S YOUR TAKEAWAY FROM THE SHOW?
Working on "Awkward Black Girl" and "Insecure" was life-changing. I felt more confident in my own voice and stories. It inspired me to create content regardless of rejection from industry gatekeepers.

WHY DIRECTOR?
I had a specific vision and I was the best person to tell the story of "Definition Please".

WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
My feature film, Definition Please, is finishing up its film festival run and coming to audiences soon.

WHAT DO YOU WISH TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE PRESENT CULTURAL LANDSCAPE?
I want to inspire the next generation of storytellers.

WHO OR WHAT HAS HAD THE MOST INFLUENCE ON YOUR CAREER AND LIFE DECISIONS?
Issa Rae.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL AESTHETIC?
Trendy casual. I love sweatpants and drinking tea.

WHAT BEAUTY ROUTINE DO YOU SWEAR BY?
Coconut oil for my skin. 13. WHAT DO YOU GET UP TO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING?
Sleep.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
Watching shows and movies and taking long walks and hikes.
