They Can Dry The Sea

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

Last year during the Copenhagen Fashion Week, I ran into number of people of interest, if you're aiming for an occupation within the fashion industry.

Fernanda Palmeiro, the little girl that could, is one of them. Until November, 2010, Palmeiro held the coveted position of both Editor-in-Chief and PR and Marketing Manager at Copenhagen's leading fashion fairs, CPH Vision and Terminal 2. She's since moved on to become the Head of PR Scandinavia/Europe at George Jensen. You can read about her climbing the career ladder, in the posts Fernanda Palmeiro-Part 1 and Fernanda Palmeiro-Part 2. Or, just check them out to see the fabulous clothes she wears.

Then there were the fashion forward, married couple, the Storms who own and run a concept store, together.

Sadly, I missed most of the fashion shows I'd been invited to attend. The excuse, I was stuck, on a night train, somewhere between Sweden and Denmark. And I bet you're thinking; "Just like the Orient-Express, how romantic." I can assure you, that it was nothing like it.

Due to some Harry Potter-Hitchcock-ish technical error, the ticket booking system had added an extra wagon, wagon number nine, to the locomotive, that didn't really exist. So instead of "falling asleep to the rhythm of the rails", I spent my night listening to the chaos and commotion sipping through the walls of the space where I was s'posed to be cuddled up in slumber.

"Ah, but, what hath night to do with sleep?" - you ask.

  5. Scandi-fashion... how sweetly tempting. Paris is now under the fash' week rush. Stylish folks running all over the City of Glam. Hard hard.

  6. Ugh, I've had nightmarish cross-country train trips like that too. Sorry to hear you missed shows because of it.
