Cruel Summer

Photographed By Ellinor Forje

A couple of days ago, on August 3 to be more precise, I woke up by the rays of the sun gently tickling my nose. It was the first day of Copenhagen Fashion Week. I had my outfit picked out and my schedule all mapped out. The day was going to be perfect. Then, as I tried to move out of bed, I was hit by the most awkward sensation running through my system. You know that feeling right before you catch the flu? I remember thinking, "Oh no, I'm falling sick!" All I needed at that point was for someone to tell me that the universe was about to cave in due to an hitherto unknown planet hiding behind the sun, and be done with it.

It really wasn't anything serious though. Just a slight bug which rest combined with green tea, aspirin and a lot of water, cleared up within two days. I became cured. But, my heart was still bleeding from some of the events that I'd missed.

  1. Oh that is so sad, when you get sick and can't do things you want. Poor poor you. But I hope you got to see a few events anyway.

  2. Lovely post and blog. If you want we should follow each other! Let me know and I'll do the same! There is a new post on my blog!

  3. Hey !
Thank God you got better, but it's a shame that you couldn't go to the fashion week.

  4. Thanks for your comment on my blog ! I hate it when I feel sick and I had important things to do, it's such an annoying feeling...I am glad you got well soon anyway !.
If you want we can follow each other. I love your blog and pics ! I would already be following if you but in this precise moment the follower widget is having problems here on your blog, it happens sometimes on blogger...I will be back !

  5. nice post!

  6. Aww that sucks, why do colds/flu always appear at the worse possible time! :(

Glad to hear that you're feeling better now!

  7. Lovely post...

    good thing you got better.

  8. Ah Okay...
I wish I was in California, not in Portugal!

  9. Hope you feel a lot better. Would love to see more of Copenhagen Fashion Week!

  10. Thank you for your comment on my blog post!

You take great photos! You have an interesting blog. I'd like to subscribe to it but it appears there's no way to "follow" you aside from subscribing through the Atom feed. It would be ideal if you also had an RSS feed through feedburner. It would be easier to track your blog for your readers. Just a tip.

  11. Agh! I always get sick it when I don't want to! I was sick for the whole Berlin Fashion Week in January of this year! I was not a happy or well chappy :)

I too love Batik patterns as well as Aztec and Mexican inspired textiles ;)
