I’ll be honest, when I first heard that Magasin du Nord was launching its own body and beauty collection, I was skeptical. I’m generally not a fan of department store own label lines, even from more premium retailers. They often feel like products created simply because they can be, with minimal attention beyond branding.
That’s also how I tend to feel about celebrity fragrances. Too often, they seem more about image than substance, and I rarely find them particularly compelling.
Of course, there are exceptions. Some store brand products do stand out, and when they do, they can be genuinely impressive.
With that in mind, I decided to try a few items from Magasin du Nord’s range, the shower crème, body oil, and cleansing wipes. I was pleasantly surprised. The products are well formulated and feel considered rather than rushed. Ingredients such as sunflower oil, shea butter, buckthorn, and açaí contribute to formulas that are both nourishing and effective, making them feel like high quality moisturising products.
One drawback is that the collection is only available in Denmark, which limits accessibility. However, for those who have the opportunity to visit Copenhagen, it may be worth exploring in person.
I'm entering for sure!
